MOSCOW, February 25 (RIA Novosti) - Roman...
Russian international Pavlyuchenko had made no secret of his desire to leave а‚orth London after losing his place in the first team, but the club"s insistence on regaining the some $28 million they paid to sign him from Spartak Moscow in August 2008 saw a number of deals fall through during the winter transfer window.
But after two Premier League goals against Wigan Athletic in a 17-minute substitution appearance at the weekend and another double in last night"s 4-0 FA Cup against Bolton Wanderers, Pavlyuchenko"s future is now with Tottenham.
"Roman will play for Tottenham," agent Oleg Artemov was quoted as saying by the Sovetski Sport paper. "There"s nothing else left."
The player has yet to comment.
Artemov also said that Lokomotiv Moscow, widely tipped to sign Pavlyuchenko this summer, had had their offer turned down by the English side.
"He"s in the team now. He is bang in form and I wouldn"t see myself leaving him out of the team at the weekend,"
