The Russian team, consisting of five gymnasts won 169,700 points. Britain took silver with 168,275 points and Romania won bronze with 164, 975.
The European Championships are being held in the U.K. city of Birmingham from April 21 to May 2. There are team and individual competitions for men, women, seniors and juniors.
More than 800 gymnasts from around 40 countries are taking part in the competition.
